Are you involved in any clubs or activities at CSU?
“I work at CSU, part of the front desk staff at Parmelee Hall. This is the best experience for me. I can interact with students and check stuff out to them. It reminds me of my first time here. I didn’t know anything about CSU or studying abroad and I remember the guy that checked me in. Receiving a new student, to me, that reminds me of the first time I came here. So, doing what I like now is helping others and I try to make students confident. I have to say to them, ‘Don’t worry, you are in good hands here.’ CSU is the best place for international students to study.”
What are some of your favorite parts of Fort Collins?
“I love Old Town. I usually go to Old Town to dance Salsa. I like those events here in Fort Collins – multicultural, you know? I thought here it would be just American culture but it’s a diversity of cultures. You can see people from all over the world. One of my favorite parts is dancing Salsa. I like it so I spend time with my friends over there. It’s cool. Another activity is hiking. Colorado has the best landscape to hike so it’s amazing. I usually go to Horsetooth mountain. So, it’s the best I think.”
What are some tips you want to give other students coming here?
“Don’t be scared. Be confident. Here at CSU you can learn from each other. Every single student has a different story. So, don’t be scared. Ask questions. Put in to practice everything you can learn from CSU and living here in the U.S. Once you get used to that it’s like the best ever.”
What do you want to do after CSU?
“I want to do something for my county. I want to learn as much as I can here at CSU. I know CSU is one of the best colleges to study water resources. My major has a concentration in water resources. So, I would like to get as much information as I can to be a better tool for my country.”
Any final thoughts you want to add?
“I will say that if students want to study abroad the best choice is to study here at CSU. There is a huge diversity of culture. Integrity is one of their values here at CSU. It’s one of the most important things for international students. The Ram community here at CSU is very strong. You won’t feel afraid or excluded from anything because here is a family. So, you can be a part of that family. Don’t be afraid to stay here or study abroad, it’s the best.”
